The mind plays tricks on you. You play tricks back! It's like you're unraveling a big cable-knit sweater that someone keeps knitting and knitting and knitting and knitting and knitting and knitting... - Pee Wee Herman
I left town today. But only to go to nearby Chesterfield for their adorable 4th of July parade. I can't believe I've lived here for 14 years and have never been to this event. It's a sweet, small town parade - not too long and full of lots of homemade floats and costumes. The oddest part was a person in a chicken costume wandering up and down the parade route, hugging everyone. Apparently she is there every year. She is both fascinating and terrifying to 2 year-olds.
There was the arrival of Issue 1 of Lucky Peach. There was a fabulous grilled dinner (if I do say so myself). There was ping pong at Adam and Liz's (and I'm just as spazzy at ping pong as I am at every other sport that involves hitting a ball over a net).
